Product Guide for Men
You know how your hair looks right after leaving Skyline Salon? It looks great, right, perfectly styled with each strand in just the right place. The problem is that most of you guys have a hard time recreating that style once at home and in front of the bathroom mirror.
Guys, you have to use styling products. By choosing (and using) the right product perfectly suited to your hair type and style, you can get that "just left the salon look"…but without the little hairs in your shirt collar.
POMADES…(sleek, shorter or texturized styles) are very versatile, they offer a wet, shiny look while maintaining a pliable hold. But not right for fine hair, pomades are perfect for sleek, well-groomed styles or shorter, texturized styles. They give a shine and separation to long hair.
WAXES… (adding shine and control to short styles) are similar to pomades, but give a more aggressive hold.
MUDES/FIBERS…(disheveled and longer styles) these offer maximum control and give off a non-glossy, matte finish.
CREAMS…(Controlling frizz, fly-aways, and conservative styles) styling creams are often the best choice for men who need something in their hair, but don't want to look like it.
GELS… (strong hold and wet looks) we all have experience with these. A quality gel will create a wet, sleek look. But don't get a cheap supermarket gel, those tend to break and flake off in the hair, so get the good stuff.
HAIRSPRAYS…(Volume and greater control) these are great for guys with thin or thinning hair. Spray create the illusion of volume and can lock a style in place. The majority of men should avoid using sprays, they often weigh the hair down.
